Tata Power inches up on the bour

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 55.95, up by 0.10 points or 0.18% from its previous closing of Rs. 55.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 56.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 56.30 and Rs. 55.30 respectively. So far 182079 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 81.50 on 05-Dec-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 50.40 on 21-Aug-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 58.95 and Rs. 55.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 15133.21 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 36.21%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 48.05% and 15.67% respectively.

Tata Power Company and ICICI Bank’s joint venture (JV) -- Resurgent Power has acquired real estate baron Manoj Gaur's biggest power plant at Prayagraj Power Generation (PPGCL) in Uttar Pradesh (UP) by agreeing to takeover Rs 6,000 crore of debt of the company. Renascent Power Ventures, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Resurgent Power Ventures Pte, has acquired 75 per cent stake in PPGCL which owns and operates 1,980 MW coal-based electricity generation unit.

PPGCL is a subsidiary of Gaur's Jaiprakash Power Ventures which has been shedding assets to cut debt. It has sold power projects of about 3,800 MW capacity in the last few years to settle debt of close to Rs 21,000 crore.
