NLC India surges on commissioning Unit 1 of New Neyveli Thermal Power Station

NLC India is currently trading at Rs. 54.70, up by 0.55 points or 1.02% from its previous closing of Rs. 54.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 54.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 55.25 and Rs. 53.60 respectively. So far 14942 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 80.35 on 20-Mar-2019 and a 52 week low of Rs. 49.15 on 29-Aug-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 55.25and Rs. 53.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 7487.84 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 80.85%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 15.90% and 3.25% respectively.

NLC India has commissioned Unit 1 of New Neyveli Thermal Power Station (2 Units of 500 MW each) on December 19, 2019. The formal clearance from Southern Regional Load Despatch Centre is under process. The fuel for this plant-lignite will be sourced from Mines at Neyveli. The main plant packages are supplied and erected by BHEL.

This is the first 500 MW lignite fired power boiler in the country and so far the highest capacity of lignite fired boiler in India is up to 250 MW only. With the commissioning of this unit, the total installed power generation capacity of company has crossed 5000 MW. The power from this plant will be supplied to the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry.
